Chris Ramsey admitted he feels for the fans after his QPR side were relegated in deeply disappointing style on Sunday.
The R's were brushed aside 6-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium to fall back down to the Championship having secured just 27 points in 36 Premier League matches this season.
It was a sub-par performance from QPR and Ramsey says it goes to show just how far the Londoners are off the pace of the top flight at this point in time.
"Well, obviously you're playing against a top quality team that can do that to other top teams. Obviously at this moment we're not a top team," Ramsey told Sky Sports 1.
"We came here with a lot of hope, we shot ourselves in the foot and we gave away three set pieces which they scored from and I think the anxiety of the occasion got to a few people and we steered away from the plans that we'd put in place.
"On the day we didn't really turn up and they're a very good team. Man for man throughout the pitch today the boys will have been very disappointed with the way they've performed.
"We really feel sorry for the family of fans that came here today that we've put out that level of performance."
