Ramsey: Austin could still leave QPR for Premier League

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has admitted star striker Charlie Austin could still leave Loftus Road for the Premier League in January if a suitable offer is forthcoming.

Austin was linked to a number of Premier League clubs during the summer, but eventually stayed with QPR, where he has score seven goals in nine appearances this campaign.

However, Ramsey told Sky Sports financial considerations could play a role in the sale of the 26-year-old once the transfer window reopens.

"Finances always dictate what clubs do. We would hope that he would stay but finances always dictate," Ramsey said.

"Our biggest thing would be that, if Charlie does well enough, that somebody comes in for him and gives the club the money that we need for our financial situation and Charlie gets the dream move that he wants to play at the highest level.

"If he can perform in a way that means that someone comes in and gets him it means the club would have benefitted from his performances and he will benefit as well."
