Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos says the players are fully behind Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has been hit with a two-match ban for his red card against Malaga on Sunday.

"We think it is an unfair punishment. These are two games that have forced on and are a substantial blow for Real Madrid. Cristiano has received support from the locker room. We all thought the same," said Ramos.

"There was a tremendous uproar in the play but we think that Cristiano had no intention of attacking the Malaga fellow. He only wanted to get rid of him."
