Ramos backs Ancelotti game-plan despite Real Madrid's defeat at Barcelona

Sergio Ramos felt Real Madrid's plan in Sunday's El Clasico at Barcelona did not bring about their downfall.

Los Blancos were beaten 2-1 at Camp Nou with Luis Suarez firing home the winner in the 56th minute after Cristiano Ronaldo had cancelled out Jeremy Mathieu's 19th-minute opener.

Defender Ramos admits Real were outplayed in the second half but felt hat manager Carlo Ancelotti lay down the correct plan to tackle the Catalan giants.

"We know how these games are and what's required of us. The coach had a good game plan, all we lacked was that bit of luck that we've had in other games," he told Canal+.

"Obviously all kinds of things happen in games like this. We were playing a great team and it's true that they controlled the second half.

"We regret that we couldn't put our chances away when we had them."
