Rabiot: I re-signed with Juventus for Allegri

Adrien Rabiot admits Max Allegri was a key influence on his decision to re-sign with Juventus.

The France midfielder penned a new deal last month just as his previous contract was due to expire.

Rabiot said: "The coach wanted me to stay, he talked to me a lot this year to make me stay at Juve. Even on vacation he sent me many messages, first of all him and then also his staff.

"I spoke to Manna and Cherubini, we also talked a lot with the staff. They have shown me so much love. Did I also think about the European Championship? Obviously it's important, I took everything into consideration, even the fact that I didn't know what was elsewhere. Here you know what you can give.

"The coach understood who I am and what I can give on the pitch. He pushed me a lot from the start to score goals, even in training. He always told me and he always does.

"He is a coach for the incredible, even with young players he takes the time to do things, explain... After 10 goals what did he say to me? He doesn't say 'you did well', he tells me I can do more, what I did wrong ...

"I like this, I don't expect someone who tells me I'm good or extraordinary. I prefer someone who pushes me to give more, that's why I get on well with Allegri."
