Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz has dismissed criticism of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo after his red card last week against Almeria.
Ronaldo was sent-off after scoring once and also missing a penalty.
"I've worked with him since he was 18 and I know that he suffered a very violent tackle (for his ankle injury)," said Queiroz. "To be judged immature for his red card against Almeria does not seem right.
"It does not seem correct to say that Cristiano has disappointed with Portugal. He is very near the top scorers for national teams this season. And that means something.
"I hope that with Real Madrid he wins games and can bring this form to the World Cup."
