Queensland Roar go top in W-League

Queensland Roar recorded a comprehensive victory over the Central Coast Mariners to go to the top of the Westfield W-League. The Roar won 5-0 away from home on Saturday with five individual goal scorers led by Matildas Clare Polkinghorne and Lauren Colthorpe.

The win sees the Roar jump to top spot after Sydney FC were held to a 1-1 draw by the Newcastle Jets.

Leena Khamis scored her fifth goal for the Sky Blues before the Jets Katie Gill equalised in the 68th minute.

In Perth, the Glory scored three goals before Adelaide United scored twice in injury time for a 3-2 result to the home side.

Matildas star striker Lisa de Vanna netted her first goal of the season for the Glory, coinciding with their first win whilst Canberra United jumped to fourth on the table thanks to a 1-0 win over the Melbourne Victory.
