QPR captain Joey Barton feels Saturday's home meeting with Arsenal could define the futures of a lot of the clubs players.
The R's sit 18th on the table and at least need a point as Bolton, just above them, take on bottom-placed Wolves.
Both results could have a massive affect on QPR's standing but Barton knows he can only influence his side's outcome and is pushing for a positive result when the in-form Gunners make the short trip from North to West London.
"We're as desperate for the points as they are - for totally different reasons obviously.
"But there are livelihoods on the line here. People's careers are on the line. I'm not sure that's the case at Arsenal to be honest.""This is more than a game of football now. The next eight games govern our futures," he told the club's official website.
