QPR could play banned defender Rio Ferdinand against Chelsea.
The London Evening Standard says Ferdinand was banned after tweeting an inappropriate word and technically that rules him out of the London derby.
However, the Football Association this morning confirmed Rangers can lodge an application with the chairman of football's independent regulatory body. That would give them a seven-day breathing space to decide whether they want to lodge a formal appeal.
A QPR source this morning confirmed Harry Redknapp has been using Ferdinand in training all week and may even want him to play in a new role against Chelsea: "Harry has been trying Rio out in a new role in training every day and it's worked well."
