QPR are chasing Genoa defender Andreas Granqvist.
Rs boss Mark Hughes is hopeful of persuading owner Tony Fernandes to sanction a £4.5million move for Granqvist.
A Daily Mirror source said: "There is an interest from Queens Park Rangers for Granqvist, but Liverpool and Newcastle are also considering doing something in January."
