QPR expected to turn to Sherwood this week

Tim Sherwood is expected to succeed Harry Redknapp as QPR manager this week.

Redknapp quit QPR in the early hours of the morning after deciding he needed to step down ahead of undergoing knee surgery.

The London Evening Standard says Sherwood is the clear favourite to take over. Les Ferdinand and Chris Ramsey, his assistants at Tottenham during the second half of last season, have been placed in temporary charge of the first team at Loftus Road.

They are expected to be in the dug-out on Saturday, when Rangers take on Southampton at home.
