QPR are chasing Toronto FC striker Jermain Defoe today.
The Mirror says Harry Redknapp is plotting an audacious deadline day swoop for striker Defoe as a replacement for Chelsea signing Loic Remy.
Defoe, currently in England, is aware of the interest from the Hoops - and has been for several days, as contact was made with his camp before Remy's move to Stamford Bridge.
The 31-year-old England international is recovering from a groin injury, but it is not thought to be a hurdle to a possible deal.
