QPR chairman Fernandes frustrated over Defoe, Borini personal demands

QPR failed to land their top striker targets yesterday due to big contract demands.

The Mirror says Monday began with manager Harry Redknapp keen on former England striker Jermain Defoe, following the sacking of his boss and former Spurs team-mate Ryan Nelsen at Canadian Major League Soccer side Toronto.

Defoe, however, refused to budge on his £90,000-a-week wage demands, so Redknapp launched a £10million bid for backup Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.

The Italian, however, ALSO demanded a weekly salary of £90k, leaving Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes to back out, frustrated.
