QPR boss Harry Redknapp is eyeing Shanghai Shenhua striker Nicolas Anelka.
The Daily Mail says Redknapp has identified former Chelsea striker Anelka as a serious loan target.
The 33-year-old is contracted to Shanghai Shenhua, but could be available on a temporary basis from January given the Chinese Super League season has finished.
Anelka is keen to return to Europe on a full-time basis after privately admitting his move to China was a mistake.
Redknapp would look to secure a deal to sign Anelka until the end of the season, though the move would depend on QPR coming to an agreement with Shanghai over the player's £250,000-per-week wages.
