QPR boss Harry Redknapp has hit out at Hull City signing Hatem Ben Arfa.
Ben Arfa penned an open letter to Newcastle United fans last week to explain his move.
But Redknapp wrote in The Sun: "If I was a Magpies supporter I think I'd like to write back to him and ask why he didn't try harder more often when he played for my team.
"How many games did he play, 50-60? He's not exactly Alan Shearer, Kevin Keegan or Jackie Milburn, is he?
"Yet there now seems to be a growing trend among modern footballers to open their hearts and pour out sugar-sweet nothings to the supporters they leave behind.
"You suspect it's a cunning ploy to ensure they don't get a barrel of abuse when they turn up in their team's new colours as Ben Arfa will with new club Hull later this season."
