QPR boss Harry Redknapp is delighted with their transfer business in the past week.
In Steven Caulker and Rio Ferdinand, Redknapp believes he has one of the best defensive partnerships in the Premier League.
"Two good signings, in fact great signings," he said.
"They are both outstanding players, two of the best centre-halves in the Premier League, in my opinion, so I am very pleased to have them on board.
"Steven had a buy-out clause in his contract and Cardiff getting relegated made it possible. There were a couple of other teams in for him but I think he really wanted to come to QPR.
"I think he wanted to play with Rio and I think he wanted to come and play for us."
