QPR boss Harry Redknapp is convinced he can snap up Tottenham defender William Gallas.
The London Evening Standard says the 35-year-old, sidelined with a calf injury, is out of contract in the summer and talks about an extension have been postponed until then. However, he is unlikely to be offered a new deal by Spurs and QPR hope they can capitalise on the situation by buying him now.
Former Rangers boss Mark Hughes tried to land Gallas last summer but the move collapsed when Younes Kaboul suffered a serious knee injury.
Gallas has become a first-team regular under Andre Villas-Boas and he started 16 Premier League games before suffering his calf injury during the Christmas period.
Spurs may not let the former Chelsea defender leave because Kaboul is not expected to be fit until next month but Redknapp, who has conceded defeat in his attempt to sign Gallas's club-mate, Michael Dawson, believes a deal can be agreed.
