QPR boss Harry Redknapp insists British players should only be given a first team chance if they're good enough.
The English manager lamented the lack of British players currently playing in the Premier League, but adopted the no nonsense policy of 'best man for the job.'
He said: "So long as you have home-grown players good enough to play at the top level - it's not a problem.
"We all want to see more British players playing in the Premier League, but they've got to be god enough.
"There's no point playing them for the sake of it, just because they come from these shores, they've got to be up to playing and if they're not - you've got a problem."
