QPR boss Harry Redknapp has no doubts about the temperament of Joey Barton.
Barton's career has been plagued by ugly controversy on and off the pitch.
"Before I met Joey I didn't know him and like everyone you only know what you read and hear," said Redknapp.
"Once you come and work with him and see what a fantastic trainer he is and how good he is on the training ground, I could not have asked for more.
"I think he will be a big influence this year.
"I am looking for Joey and Rio (Ferdinand) to click. I don't see why they wouldn't.
"This season is a big challenge.
"It's only really at Tottenham where I have gone and not had to stop relegation. But now we're up it's a good challenge and I am looking forward to it."
