QPR boss Harry Redknapp wants to see Stuart Pearce replaced as England U21 coach with experience.
Redknapp wrote in The Sun: "The last time we had an England team which looked to be heading in the right direction was under Glenn Hoddle.
"That's why I think he would be a great choice to become the new U-21 manager or to get involved in coaching the kids.
"When he was boss of Swindon he bought a centre-half, who had been lumping the ball into the stands all his life. Glenn had him playing like Franz Beckenbauer before too long.
"Steve McClaren, too, would be a good choice.
"Since working at FC Twente in Holland I bet he has learned a lot about how to play football the right way."
