QPR in a much better position than people think - Fernandes

QPR owner Tony Fernandes says his club are in a much stronger position financially than when they were relegated two seasons ago.

QPR's drop to the second tier was confirmed after a 6-0 defeat to Manchester City a fortnight ago, but Fernandes says the club are in a much better position than they were at the end of the 2012/23 season.

"Last time we went down I was a lot more tense. I was worried about a lot of things. But we got through it, we got back up," he said.

"This time we go down in a much stronger position, with a better structure and better solutions for what we want to do in the long term.

"Of course we are desperate to get back up to the Premier League.

"But this time we will stick to our guns and have longer-term vision when we get players.
