West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis admits he couldn't trust himself after back-to-back defeats to Aston Villa last week.
The Baggies bounced back on Saturday with victory over Stoke City.
Pulis admits he steered clear of the club for 48 hours following last week's FA Cup exit at Villa.
He said: "I was bitterly disappointed and I can be a bit snappy so I took myself away. You either have a passion or you don't, and sometimes I get myself in such a state I am best away from people."
