Pulis fumes as Stoke have Sunday FA Cup fixture

Stoke boss Tony Pulis is angry that the Potters FA Cup fourth-round tie against Wolves has been scheduled for Sunday 30th January and that this is swiftly followed by two league games. Stoke will then face Liverpool on Wednesday February 2 and then Sunderland on Saturday February 5.

The decision to move the cup tie from Saturday - made by police because Birmingham and Aston Villa are both at home that afternoon - to the following day has annoyed Pulis.

He told the Sentinel: "If the Wolves game had to be changed, I would have it on the Friday night, but apparently that has been pooh-poohed.

"Playing on the Friday would have given us more time to prepare for a tough game at Liverpool.

"What makes it worse is that Liverpool and Sunderland are out of the cup, so are putting their feet up over the weekend."

He added: "Everybody is saying we should take the FA Cup seriously, then they go and do this."
