Claude Puel was delighted with Southampton's opening Premier League win of the season.
The Frenchman oversaw his very first victory as a manager in England's top flight as the Saints dominated Swansea City to win 1-0 a St Mary's.
The result backed up Southampton's 3-0 Europa League win over Sparta Prague on Thursday and saw them move up to 14th on the table, prompting the following reaction from Puel.
"It's a good feeling," admitted Puel. "Also it's very important for my players.
"It's difficult when you don't score from all those chances. But congratulations to my players - they kept a good attitude, a good spirit and a good structure to create those chances.
"To finish with a victory is very important for the confidence."
Charlie Austin scored the only goal of the contest in the 64th minute after a host of Southampton chances somehow stayed out of the back of Lukasz Fabianski's net.
