Andy van der Meyde has been snapped up by PSV Eindhoven after his release from Everton.
The 30-year-old is aiming to restore his damaged reputation while with the Eredivisie leaders, who are bitter enemies of Ajax, after joining them as a free agent following his departure from Everton.
"I want to be important for PSV. I am glad to be here," he told PSV's official website.
"It did not take long to make up my mind. The chance to return to football with a major club like PSV is excellent.
"I must first be totally fit and hope that soon I will be.
"It does not matter where I have played previously, it is now that matters. I hope I can win the hearts and minds of the supporters."
