PSV SCOFF at Rodgers claims Liverpool didn't want Man Utd signing Depay

PSV Eindhoven insist Liverpool made an attempt for Memphis Depay before his sale to Manchester United last week. Depay, himself, claimed he had spoken with Liverpool before signing for United on Thursday morning.

But Reds boss Brendan Rodgers was adamant that Liverpool had made no attempt for the Dutchman.

The Sunday World says the claims have been laughed off by PSV chiefs, who have confirmed that they had given permission for Depay to talk to the Anfield club.

The youngster joined United on Thursday for a fee rising to £33 million.
