PSV Eindhoven defender Erik Pieters has indicated that he may be a Newcastle United player by the weekend.
The 23-year old left-back is reportedly close to joining the Magpies after it emerged that PSV and the Geordie club had agreed a fee and he admits that a deal could be finalised soon.
"If a club from the Premier League says they want you, and that is the case, then you know the financial means they have," he told Algemeen Dagblad.
"Whether I play for PSV at Excelsior on Sunday or am already at Newcastle I do not know.
"I have not seen much of Newcastle myself but my friend (and fellow Dutchman) Tim Krul keeps me informed."
