Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is being lined up a for a return to PSV Eindhoven.
The Mail on Sunday says Gomes is poised for an extraordinary return to PSV Eindhoven in January.
Dutch champions PSV are ready to offer Spurs the chance to cut and run on the deal brokered last summer.
Although Harry Redknapp has been publicly supportive of Gomes, there is little doubt he would want to bring in his own man.
PSV technical director Jan Reker said: "It is a difficult situation with Gomes. He had a very tough start in England. At the moment he is playing better but I am not sure Tottenham are happy with him. It is a bit difficult to judge what will happen but I don't want to rule anything out."
Tottenham have so far only paid £2m of the agreed £8m fee and PSV would be prepared to waive the rest if Gomes goes back to Holland.
