PSG wing-back Alessandro Florenzi: We can beat Man City - and make history

Paris Saint Germain wing-back Alessandro Florenzi insists they can upset Manchester City on Tuesday night.

City host Paris Saint Germain for the second-leg of their Champions League semifinal defending a 2-1 lead. But Florenzi insists they can upset the Premier League champions-elect, stating they can unsettle City's possession game with an aggressive show of pressing on the Etihad stadium pitch.

Quoted by Le 10 Sport, Florenzi says: "If Paris is able to destabilise this Manchester City team? Yes, absolutely, that's what we all think. If we play like we did in the first half, we can beat them.

"Of course, we'll have to do this for 90 minutes. And it won't be easy. But we are, in my opinion, a team capable of achieving these kinds of results. We are going there and we will have nothing to lose, so we are going to play the game hard."

Florenzi is adamant Paris Saint Germain boast the attacking quality to find the goals to overturn City's lead. The Italy international also insists their busy schedule can work in the visitors' favour as they will need the right type of mental approach to pull off the upset.

He explained: "I think that with our quality we can do it. They have their own strategy which will be to keep the ball, so we will certainly have to do good pressing together and try to move forward with our own strategy. But I'm really confident for this game. We can really do something right.

"These kinds of matches, in my opinion, the less we prepare for them mentally, the better. If you start thinking about it from 3, 4 days before, in my opinion you arrive exhausted. There are matches that prepare themselves, as they say, and this is one of them. We are going to go there with a lot of heart, a lot of pride and a lot of desire to do well ... to try to make history."

Paris Saint Germain go into the match tonight on the back of victory on Saturday against Ligue 1 opponents Lens. The victory has Mauricio Pochettino's team one point behind leaders Lille with three games remaining in the domestic season.
