PSG URGING Arsenal to make Cavani offer

Edinson Cavani is edging closer to the PSG exit door. The Daily Star says the Uruguayan striker was unhappy at the French champions last season after being played on the wing due to Zlatan Ibrahimovic occupying the lead striker role prompting Premier League rivals Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Spanish giants Real Madrid to monitor his availability.

Sources on the continent suggest PSG will sanction Cavani's sale in the January transfer window despite his good form in front of goal this season.

This follows reports earlier in the week that the French capital club will offload the 27-year-old in order to fund a move for Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen to sign Cavani despite his numerous attacking options and will launch a bid in the coming weeks despite his £50m price tag.
