PSG powerhouse Cavani favours Chelsea move

PSG striker Edinson Cavani is keen on a move to Chelsea this summer. The Mirror says Cavani put Chelsea on high alert last night after telling friends he wants to move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Uruguayan hit-man Cavani is understood to have had enough of playing second fiddle to Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The biggest issue with Cavani would be a likely and prohibitive £55million-plus price-tag and salary demands of £6m-plus per season, although manager Jose Mourinho promised that Chelsea can afford ''one'' striker in that bracket.

But if the Uruguayan is angling for a move - and he has told friends that he wants to play for Mourinho - then Chelsea have bargaining chips of their own.

PSG have made no secret of their interest in acquiring the services of David Luiz, Oscar and Eden Hazard.

And while Chelsea have placed ''not for sale'' notices on both Oscar and the Belgian, the possibility of getting Cavani in a cash-plus exchange deal might tip the balance, with Fernando Torres another potential makeweight in any deal.
