PSG midfielder Wijnaldum considers Arsenal as 'club close to his heart'

Arsenal have been handed good news in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Dutchman, who signed for PSG from Liverpool in the summer on a free transfer, is already seeking pastures new.

According to Sky Sports, Wijnaldum supported Arsenal as a youngster, and still regards them as one of his favorite clubs.

Such a connection may convince the Dutch midfielder, who is now 31, to jump back to the Premier League in January or the summer.

Speaking on Sky Sports, journalist Kaveh Solhekol said: "I've been told Arsenal are one of his favourite clubs.

"Somebody quite close to me said that when he was growing up that he was an Arsenal supporter.

"So I think that he would be more than happy to play for Arsenal one day.

"I'm not going to say it's going to happen this month. I'm not going to say it's going to happen in the summer.

"But they are definitely, I've been told, a club that are close to his heart."
