French club Paris Saint-Germain have officially confirmed the signing of Alex from Chelsea.

The Brazilian defender has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with a transfer fee of around £5million.

Alex said at today's press conference that the prospect of again playing under Carlo Ancelotti helped him decide on PSG.

"Basically, I had not played much in the last two months and I wanted to leave Chelsea," Alex told reporters.

"Finally, we began to negotiate with PSG and everything went very well.

"I know the fame of the club, so I wanted to come. And I spent two years with Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea. I wanted to play again with him."
