Preston North End are chasing Liverpool defender Stephen Sama.

The Mirror says the 18-year-old has been in outstanding form for the Reds' reserves and PNE boss Phil Brown is keen to add him to his League One side, who have been leaking goals alarmingly.

Sama, a Cameroon-born German, is currently well down the pecking order at Anfield, but is tipped to rise through the ranks in time.

Brown is looking for a quick answer from the Premier League side as he tries to strengthen a back line that's let in 10 goals in the last three games.
