Preston legend Alexander eyeing management career

Graham Alexander admits he would love to continue on in a coaching capacity after experiencing management with Preston North End.

The 40-year old midfielder took the reins at Deepdale, along with David Unsworth, when Phil Brown was sacked in December and has continued to work alongside new manager Graham Westley.

Alexander, who suggests he won't play again, is now looking to get involved in the coaching side of the game, preferably with the Lilywhites.

"Obviously my playing days are over and I just want to get on with the other side of my career, which is helping players to improve and helping to win games," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"I've had a taste of it for the last three or four months and I've enjoyed every single minute of it.

"Hopefully that will continue at Preston. I don't have to go on record to say how much the club means to me."
