PREMIERSHIP WRAP: Man Utd reclaim Premiership summit, Birmingham win late at Blackpool and Fulham coast against West Brom

Manchester United go three points clear at the top of the Premiership following a 2-1 win over Stoke City at Old Trafford and remain unbeaten in the league this season. Sir Alex Ferguson's team made it 12 wins in 13 starts at Old Trafford with a hard fought but deserved win over a battling Stoke side.

Javier Hernandez opened the scoring for United with a cheeky flick just before the half-hour as the host's dominated the Potters who last tasted victory at Old Trafford in 1976.

Boss Tony Pulis clearly had words with his team to compete more and within five minutes of the restart had levelled when Tuncay set up Dean Whitehead to head home.

The Reds pressed forward for the winner and were rewarded with a stunning Nani strike on 62 minutes.

Stoke tried gamely for another equaliser but it was the home side who looked more likely to score.

United go three points clear of neighbours Man City, who have played a game more than their neighbours.

Bad weather has meant Blackpool have not played at home for over a month and there return was met with a 2-1 reverse to Birmingham who scored in the last minute to ease away from the relegation zone.

For the Blues it was their first away win of the campaign and they took a first half lead through Alexander Hleb.

Chances came and went for both teams in an entertaining encounter and a DJ Campbell volley levelled things up for the Seasiders midway through the second half.

But just when it seemed both teams would share the spoils central defender Scott Dann slotted an 89th minute winner.

Fulham continue to ease away from the drop zone with a comfortable 3-0 home win over West Bromwich Albion who slip to a fifth consecutive league defeat and now look nervously over their shoulders.

The Cottagers move up five places with this win and ease the pressure on boss Mark Hughes who was booed last time out at Craven Cottage.

An error by Baggies keeper Scott Carson handed Fulham the lead when he misjudged Simon Davies' shot on the stroke of half -time.

A Clint Dempsey header and a similar finish from Brede Hangeland, both supplied by Davies completed the scoring in West London.
