Chelsea put six past sorry QPR whilst their relegation counterparts Blackburn Rovers went down to a routine 2-0 defeat at Tottenham. A Chelsea side, fresh from their Champions league heroics in midweek, were much too strong for relegation threatened QPR as the Blues cruised to a 6-1 home success courtesy of a Fernando Torres hat-trick.
Daniel Sturridge scored after 45 seconds before John Terry headed home and Torres struck twice as the Blues were 4-0 to the good within 25 minutes.
The Spaniard sealed his hat-trick after the break, with Florent Malouda making it 6-0 before Djibril Cisse's consolation.
Tottenham dominated at White Hart Lane and had little difficulty in disposing of relegation threatened Blackburn 2-0 to back into fourth in the league.
Rafael van der Vaart and Kyle Walker free kick proved sufficient as the visitor's failed to get a single shot on goal.
