PREMIER LEAGUE: West Brom heap more misery on Bolton

West Bromwich Albion moved up into mid-table security after a 2-1 home win over Bolton who remain in the bottom three. Bolton boss Owen Coyle has still to register a win over a team by Roy Hodgson.

The Wanderers started brightly and went behind against the run of play when Jerome Thomas collected Zoltan Gera's pass, beat the offside trap and rounded Jussi Jaaskelainen to fire into an empty net.

But the visitor's deservedly levelled through Ivan Klasnic from the penalty spot after Fabrice Muamba was fouled.

After the break Shane Long, returning just four weeks after sustaining a serious-looking knee injury, got on the end of a Nicky Shorey cross to head what proved to be a majestic winner.
