Fulham won for only the second time away from home this campaign as they comprehensively beat Sunderland 3-0 at the Stadium of Light. The Black cats are enduring a miserable end to the season not helped by loss of form and a long injury list and Fulham did not have to work too hard to claim the spoils.
Just after the half-hour Gael Kakuta scored his first Fulham goal, bundling the ball home as Sunderland's defenders hesitated.
Lee Cattermole then missed a simple opportunity to level which summed up the Black Cats afternoon.
A disappointing second half display saw Sunderland rarely look like mounting a fightback and Simon Davies scored twice to seal an emphatic victory for the Cottagers.
