The Premier League may lose significant money if the season goes on beyond July 16.
It appears that mid-June is the date when the league may resume amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
And that would leave very little time for the remaining rounds of matches to conclude before July 16.
That is the cutoff date where TV broadcasters will reportedly begin to receive weekly payments of £36 million if all matches are not completed.
The rebates would happen every week the season goes on, per terms of the contract the Premier League has with Sky and BT Sport. Money would also be due back to international broadcasters.
The Telegraph reports that it is a sliding scale of payments that varies depending on how many weeks past July 16 the season goes.
