PREMIER LEAGUE: Ba scores twice but Newcastle and Reading draw

Reading have been denied a season-first win of the Premier League season as Newcastle United scored late to force a 2-2 draw at the Madejski Stadium.

The first half was an average affair by both sides but things revved up in the second term as Jimmy Kebe netted just prior to the hour-mark before Demba Ba tied things up a couple of minutes later with a stunning volley from Cheik Tiote's cross-pitch pass.

Reading edged ahead again when Noel Hunt headed home in his full Premier League debut but Ba saved the day for the Magpies with an 83rd minute leveller which saw the ball potentially take a deflection off his hand for his sixth of the season.

Reading: 2 (Jimmy Kebe 57', Noel Hunt 62') Newcastle United: 2 (Demba Ba 59'/83')
