Schweinsteiger has scored vital goals for Germany at Euro 2008, and his contract with Bayern Munich has entered its final year.

"England does have a good appeal," Schweinsteiger is quoted as saying in The People.

"It is now one of the world's best leagues and I heard all about it from Michael (Ballack), Jens Lehmann and Thomas Hitzlsperger who have all played there.

"I have always wanted to play in England so we will see if it happens this year."
