Italy coach Cesare Prandelli will give Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi every chance to make his Euro2012 squad.

Rossi could be sidelined for up to six months after he underwent knee surgery last night.

"It's bad news for him and us, but we'll wait for him," the Azzurri tactician said. "I tried ringing him, but I kept getting his answer machine.

"He just has to concentrate on recovering from the injury with serenity and tranquility. We are waiting for him to return to action."
