Poyet warns he'll walk if Sunderland ignore his transfer plans

Gus Poyet has warned he will walk if he cannot get his signings in at Sunderland.

Poyet has raised the prospect of quitting if stars are recruited that he doesn't want, as he draws the battle lines ahead of trading in January led by Director of Football Roberto De Fanti.

"The player has to be the right one for me. If not, I'm not going to accept it.

"We talked about a position the other day and considered four players. I picked two. It was simple. One of the other two was a definite no. If that one is coming, I won't be here.

"I've told him my opinions about everybody and I've told him what I think we should be looking for.

"For me, so far, there are no problems. I am used to his system. The connection and the communication has been great. Now, the best way for everything is to wait until the transfer window and to see what we do and how we do it and then you analyse. If it's good, fine. If not, then you need to sort it out.

"I'm excited to wait for the transfer window, because that's when you can see whether it's working.

"I knew what the situation was and I accepted it, and so far I have got no complaints, but to prove it to everybody we need to wait until we get through at least one transfer window."
