Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is eyeing son Diego as his first signing.
The Daily Mail says former Brighton boss Poyet was confirmed as Paolo Di Canio's replacement last week on a two-year deal at the Stadium of Light and he is reportedly keen on bringing in the Charlton and England Under 18 midfielder.
Although Diego, 18, hasn't started for the Addicks, he's reportedly been on the radar of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City and his outstanding passing game has drawn comparison to his former Chelsea and Tottenham star father.
Diego made his debut for the England Under 16s against Wales in the 2010 Victory Shield and captained the Young Lions side in the Montaigu Tournament in France in 2011 before he was selected for the U17s.
