Sunderland boss Gus Poyet plans to have a busy January market.
Poyet said new signing Marcos Alonso will be the first of several new faces this month.
"There are so many things that have to come together," he said.
"The fact is that this group of players have been at the bottom for five months and so it is clear I'm going to change something.
"I am not going to go with the same group of players to the end because if I did that, it would be more difficult.
"I need to choose well and make sure that those that come in are the right ones to turn our season around."
