Chelsea have finally pulled the plug on the tenure of coach Graham Potter.
The young English coach was brought in to lead a long term project with co-owner Todd Boehly.
However, he leaves in a mere months with the joint-lowest points-per-game return of any Blues coach in their Premier League history.
A 2-0 loss to Aston Villa sealed his fate, meaning that Chelsea will have to hire their third coach of the season.
Potter managed 1.27 points a game, the same as Glenn Hoddle, and worse than coaches such as Ian Porterfield, Ruud Gullit, and Frank Lampard.
A club statement read: “Chelsea FC has announced that Graham Potter has departed the club. Graham has agreed to collaborate with the club to facilitate a smooth transition.
“In his time with the club, Graham has taken us to the quarter-final of the Champions League, where we will face Real Madrid.
“Chelsea would like to thank Graham for all his efforts and contribution and wish him well for the future."
