Ange Postecoglou will pose the question to his players: 'Why can't we beat Manchester United?'.
The Melbourne Victory head coach will take the reins of the A-League All-Star side when the Premier League champions come to Sydney next month and feels that an upset could be on the cards.
"Why not! That's what I keep saying," he told au.fourfourtwo.com. "On a level playing field you'd probably say no. It's almost impossible.
"But in a one-off game, particularly in this scenario, it's what you want to go for.
"I think on both fronts, though, it's important in both games that we show our league as a good standard. I'm really interested in the quality of our football as much as results.
"If Manchester United, and Liverpool, leave our shores and say, 'you know what, they can play football' that's as much of a victory as anything else."
The A-League All-Stars will meet United at ANZ Stadium on July 20, four days before Postecoglou's Victory takes on Liverpool at the MCG.
