Portsmouth's Songo'o infuriates QPR players

Portsmouth midfielder Franck Songo'o courted controversy for Sheffield Wednesday in their victory over QPR on Saturday.

France Under-21 winger Songo'o was angrily accused of unsporting behaviour by the visitors, while his own team simply put it down to a nice touch of showmanship.

The Cameroon-born star, 20, had gone to the corner flag and was attempting to run down the clock with a clever little ball-juggling act when he was flattened by the frustrated Hogan Ephraim.

Wednesday sub Deon Burton, who grabbed his side's 52nd-minute winner from the penalty spot after Rangers keeper Lee Camp had hauled down Sean McAllister, admitted: "I don't quite know what Franck was up to.

"He did some kind of fancy flick that took out two of their players. It is the kind of thing I have seen the Barcelona players do. I don't think the Rangers lads were too happy about it.

"They thought he was taking the Mick. I just thought it was a great piece of skill."
