Portsmouth's Primus hopes for March return

Linvoy Primus has pencilled in a March return to action after undergoing a career-saving operation, reports The News.

The 34 year old Portsmouth defender went under the knife in America last week to solve a troublesome knee injury.

But first he must spend the next eight weeks on crutches before picking up his rehabilitation work.

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp said: "Linvoy is still out in America at the moment and we are hoping for the best.

"He's had a whole lot of work done on his knee and it's going to take a while.

"He's probably going to be in plaster for the next eight weeks.

"But Linvoy's a fighter, he'll come back and work hard at getting his fitness back.

"I feel for the lad, I really do. Hopefully he can come back and start challenging for a place again."
